GT-I, the world's first practical gastrocamera (1952)

In 1950, ¶¶Òõpro developed the world¡¯s first practical gastrocamera. This exhibit introduces the history and evolution of gastrointestinal endoscopes, from the first-generation ¡°GT-I¡± gastrocamera to fiberscopes and videoscopes. Visitors can also try hands-on experience, such as inserting an endoscope into a gastric model and operating therapeutic devices used with an endoscope.

Medical Business (Surgical Area*)

From the 1970s onward, ¶¶Òõpro began full-scale development in the surgical area, aiming to become a comprehensive endoscope manufacturer. In addition to endoscopes for various medical specialties, this area features a range of surgical devices. Visitors can also experience simulated endoscopic surgical procedures.

  • Microscopes (1920¨C2023) :
    ¶¶Òõpro¡¯ microscopy business began in 1920 with the ¡°Asahi,¡± one of its founding products. This exhibit presents biological microscopes that have supported education, pathology, and advanced research for over 100 years, as well as industrial microscopes and measuring instruments that have contributed to the development of various industries.

* Life science products and industrial products are no longer owned and managed by ¶¶Òõpro. These have been transferred to Evidence Co., Ltd. and are being sold.

  • Cameras (1936¨C2021) :
    The history of ¶¶Òõpro cameras began in 1936 with the ¡°Semi-¶¶Òõpro I.¡± Over the next 85 years, ¶¶Òõpro continuously challenged convention and pioneered innovative products. This exhibit features iconic models such as the ¡°¶¶Òõpro Pen¡± and the ¡°OM System¡± from the film era, along with later generations of cameras, including digital models.

* Cameras, IC recorders, and binoculars are no longer owned and managed by ¶¶Òõpro. Since January 2021, it has been transferred to OM Digital Solutions Co., Ltd. and has been sold.
